ISA Certified Arborist ON-0459A
We have the hands-on knowledge, experience, and rigging to safely dismantle large and technically challenging trees. This includes Emergency Storm Work for trees that have failed and come crashing down upon vehicles or buildings. A long and ongoing association with organizations such as the ISA (International Society of Arboriculture), and the TCIA (Tree Care Industry Association) helps us stay up-to-date with new equipment and methods.
Improper pruning looks unsightly, but it can lead to serious future tree health problems requiring ongoing and expensive remediation. There are many different types of pruning, including crown reduction, crown raising, thinning, structural pruning, deadwooding, etc. The proper removal of dead, dying, and diseased limbs is important, as well as interfering and crossed limbs. Bark Ridge does not recommend “Tree Topping” which will devalue your property and can cause long term problems.
Bark Ridge offers an alternative to removing trees that are interfering with a view, called Vista Pruning. The selective removal of limbs creates “windows” through trees in order to improve sightlines. Similarly, in order to attain decent satellite dish reception, sometimes pruning can be an alternative to the tree(s) being removed.
Unsightly stumps are a nuisance, and our stump grinder can chew them out below grade to a depth of 6” or more. Your property will look like a tree was never there. Stump grinding is a safe alternative to removal with a backhoe or mini excavator, particularly if the stump is located in close proximity to landscaping, structures, or driveways.
Cabling and Bracing
Cables installed in the upper third of a tree's canopy can help maintain structural integrity and reduce the likelihood of failure when a tree has co-dominant or weak branch unions. We recommend galvanized steel cables and forged eyebolts which have a long, proven track record of success. Bark Ridge does not install synthetic "non-invasive” or “dynamic” cabling. Although all cabling methods require periodic inspection, dynamic cabling systems have a far shorter lifespan than steel, and should be replaced every twelve years or so. This represents a poor investment for you, the buyer.
Our diesel-powered Bandit brush chipper will reduce brush piles into woodchips which can be used for natural mulch, or we can remove the chips from your premises.
